AI design
Describe a project. Get plans and files your CNC can cut.
Cutline Studio uses Claude, an AI model from Anthropic, to design flat-pack projects from a plain description. It works out the parts, the joints and the hardware, lays the parts out on your sheets, and hands them to Cutline's CAM to make the G-code.
What you can make
Cabinets and cupboards, shelves and bookcases, boxes and drawers, storage and shop organizers, signs, toys and other projects cut from sheet goods like plywood and MDF. A real example on the home page: a 36 × 24 inch cupboard with a divider, shelves and an outlet cut-out, cut from two 48 × 48 inch sheets of 1/2 inch plywood and built.
How it works
- Describe it: "A wall shelf 30 inches wide with three shelves" is enough. Claude asks a question only if the answer changes the design.
- It fits your material: tell it the plywood you have (or plan to buy) and its real measured thickness, and the joints are sized to it, so tabs and slots fit.
- It checks the design: parts are checked for fit and assembly before anything is cut, and problems are fixed before you see them.
- It nests the parts: parts are laid out on your sheet sizes, or on your scrap pieces.
- CAM and plans: each sheet goes to CAM for G-code, and you get printable plans: cut list, sheet layouts and assembly steps.
Try it without installing anything
The free web demo designs one project in your browser and shows the parts, the sheet layout and the assembly plan. The full app adds CAM, G-code, saving and your own machine and materials.
